Welcome to
Nene Art School
C.I.C.
Nene Art School C.I.C is a non-profit organisation providing new weekly after-school/out-of-school sessions for young people 8-18 years to come along and promote health and wellbeing whilst enjoying various arts and crafts.
Sessions are led by professional and experienced volunteers.
Here we provide a safe space for young people to meet, make friends and to enjoy arts including professional tutoring. While choosing from different activities during the session, young people can express themselves, make new friends, and enjoy some games together.
Our sessions at Nene Art School C.I.C are designed to help students develop their health, wellbeing, and artistic skills together with some professional tips in a supportive, holistic and inspiring environment.
The volunteers naturally embody a kind and caring approach, with a deep understanding of how to support children from diverse abilities, backgrounds, religions, and more. We work closely with migrant communities too.
Also, we support our special needs' students. The team ensures that everyone’s needs are met here, by providing individual support to everyone who needs it. Nene Art School C.I.C. is welcoming everyone no matter their visible/invisible disabilities. We are an inclusive community interest company!

Observing Life and Nature
We are having sessions outdoor time after time to observe both nature, people and urban life. Our students focuses on three observation's keys:
-
Notice with all your senses.
This can be of great benefit to your creative practice because it can help you shift perspective regularly, refresh your perception, as well as see and experience the world from many different angles.
-
Dissociate forms and words. And look with an intuition.
Reality is more than meets the eye, something much more complex and profound.
-
Receive, analyse, compare, and make connections.

Eco Friendly
Art
-
Our efforts to use ecologic supplies and materials as well as recyclable objects highlight a new way of making art that both takes the planet into consideration and expresses creativity.
-
This also promotes sustainability and environmental consciousness in our growing young generation.
-
We create pieces that narrate the impacts of climate change as well about the Earth’s vulnerability and our collective responsibility to protect it.

Great news! We are excited to announce our move one floor up at Alexandra House to Room 12.
We're settling into a permanent studio space and we will welcome students starting 5th May here.
This new space will be our creative home.

Survey Results
We invited parents of our students to take part in an anonymous survey with their children.
As we are a new non profit organisation, we sought their voice in shaping our future sessions.
We are pleased to report that the feedback has been positive, helping us identify areas to focus on moving forward.
Thank you to everyone who took a few minutes to complete this important survey.
You can see the survey results in the images below.

Taking Part at Young Arts Open 2025
Exhibition/Competition by Wisbech & Fenland Museum
We are very happy to let you know that 24 of our students' artworks were warmly accepted and beautifully displayed at the Young Arts Open 2025 exhibition hosted by Wisbech & Fenland Museum.
We are so proud of all of our young artists who took part in creating self-expression artworks for this amazing competition/exhibition! All of them have done fantastically!
The museum is running this amazing exhibition to showcase creativity of young Fenland's artists 3 years in a row and this year there were over 200 entries submitted! With support of 20TwentyProductions CIC and Rotary Club Of Wisbech it is the biggest so far!
We are also very happy to share great news that among so many young artists, our student Kirill was one of the winners there! In the age group of 8-11 his artwork was highly recognised and awarded. Take a look at his expressive graphic called "My town - Wisbech". What an achievement! We all are very happy for you, Kirill.
One of the featured artworks for the Young Arts Open 2025 exhibition at Wisbech and Fenland museum was our collaborative canvas named 'Lost & Found.'
This unique artwork was designed by students from both groups using second hand canvas and old wallpaper samples donated by Crown Decorating Centre . This artwork is made in street art style with graffiti elements. Students wrote in about what they recently lost and found or what could be lost and found. A bit of philosophical thinking!
Winter workshops of making gifts for older people
On last Christmas season we had clay workshops along with card making. Our young artists created heartfelt gifts for local elderly people using non-bake air-drying clay.
We were excited to have Jack Van Avison from How Are You Fenland on Monday session,- the one who kindly invited us to take part in the inspirational Golden Age Christmas Appeal for older people. Materials' costs were partially covered by Head to Toe Charity, - thank you so much!
We've received a feedback from a gift taker:
"Could you please give my thanks to the students for the beautiful Christmas tree decoration that came as part of a present from Father Christmas when I went to the Golden fair (for older people) at the Hudson leisure Centre today.
What a lovely treat."

Young people's voice about Wisbech
While creating a collage of a map of our local area, we talked about its important places and discussed the positive aspects of living here.
Lots of chatter, so we have picked some quotes of our charming young people.
